World Health Organization’s director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Tuesday in a meeting of the WHO’s executive board that, “There is hope”. We will need vaccines and there is hope that by the end of this year we may have a vaccine” He also added that. WHO chief general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called for unity and political responsibility by all the leaders to guarantee equivalent distribution of covid-19 vaccines when they become available.
“We need everyone, we need unity and we have to utilize all the power and we have to battle these virus”, He said. Nine experimental vaccines are in the pipeline of the WHO-led COVAX global vaccine facility that aims to distribute 2 billion doses by the end of 2021.Tedros Adhanom also said that, “Particularly for the antibodies and different items which are in the pipeline, the most significant device is a political duty from our leaders particularly in the
unbiased distributions of the Covid-19 vaccines,”.
