The short film ‘Natkhat’ of Vidya Balan, get nominations for Oscar. The ‘Natkhat’ short film won the prize in the Indian Film Festival, Melbourne. After that the short film gets nominatied for Oscar. The short film of ‘Natkhat’ is among the 5 finalists in ShortsTV’s Best of India Short Film Festival 2020 alongside different short movies like Safar, Soundproof, Trapped and Shameless. ‘Natkhat’ short film has also won the case prize of $2500.
The casting director Annukampa Harsh was writing this story of ‘Natkhat’. Vidya Balan said that, “In a year that has been tempestuous, it feels extraordinary to win the award for our short film that drives the route straight forwardly to Oscar capability. This film is unbelievably near me since it allowed me to assume the double parts of producer and actor.”

The Natkhat short film cast incorporates Sanika Patel assumes the lead character of Sonu, Vidya Balan plays the role of Sonu’s mother, Raj Arjun as Sonu’s dad, Nivedita Baunthiyal and Atul Tiwari. It was written by Shaan and Annukampa Harsh and directed by Shaan Vyas. Alongside Vidya Balan, the short film was additionally co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The plot spins around Sonu and his mom, wherein she instructs her child about sex equality and gets down on harmful sexism. The film got basic recognition and Vidya was lauded for carrying effortlessness and subtlety to her part of Sonu’s mother. Most of Natkhat cast didn’t have much related knowledge in acting. It was shot in Harda, Madhya Pradesh, and indoor scenes in Mumbai.
