On June 11, The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports stated that it won’t send its delegates to the current year’s 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Sports Ministry state that it has chosen to depute the most support staff to the hundred Indian athletes who have certified for the Summer Olympics Games, which will be held from on the 23rd July to the 8th of August.
“Visit of any individual other than Indian athletes, coaches, and support and medical staff will be taken up just if there is any convention need. In the light of the Summer Olympics game plan, it has been chosen not to have any Sports Ministry delegates for the 2020 Summer Olympics”.
“Interest of the Indian athletes and sports persons for Summer Olympics is being surveyed nonstop. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has chosen to depute most medical care and support staff and also coaches, physiotherapists, to improve the confidence and performance of the Indian Sports Athletes.”
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports stated that an “Olympic Mission Cell is being set up in the Indian Consulate in Tokyo which will offer help to the Indian athletes during the Olympics Games. The Olympic Mission Cell will give logistic support and other help for the Indian athletes in the Tokyo Olympics games, with the goal that all conceivable help is delivered consistently.
Indian sports athletes in twelve different Olympic games. The number of certified Indian athletes could yet increment and, alongside the support staff and medical staff, the Indian athletes could incorporate around 190 members. The number of authorities going to the Summer Olympics with the athletes can’t be more than 33% of the Indian Olympics Squad.
