The hospital workers, including medical doctors and guards, of the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, were supposedly assaulted with lathi and danda by family members of a Coronavirus patient who died on the 27th of April. Footage of the hospital staff being assaulted close to the entryway of the hospital was generally shared on Twitter and other platforms.
Vice President of the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Dr. Karan Thakur stated that the occurrence prompted the closing down of the ED room and Coronavirus block for 2 hrs. “The hospital got a lady in a critical condition at the ED room in the early morning. Quick medical consideration suitable to her condition was given by a hospital staff”.
“Given the shortages of the beds, the family was encouraged to move the 60-year-old patient to another hospital. Tragically, the old woman passed away on around 8 am in the morning, following which her relatives turned to the destruction and wrecking of the hospital property, and attack on our health workers”.
Dr. Karan Thakur stated that “We comprehend the family is going through a tough situation. They have lost somebody close to heart. We see how they are feeling. We would not like to FIR against them. Our just request is that if it’s not too much trouble, appreciate we are doing the critical work. We need everybody’s help and also stated that some relatives broke the glass at the entrance of the hospital”.
